Finished artwork:

Size:  ~ 6" x 6" 

Massing in Nature:  - eliminating unnecessary details: leaves, branches, grasses, sticks & rocks that would vye for attention.  This project has three essential shapes: 1. water, 2. sky, and 3. green landscape of trees, foliage, grass.

Paints: acrylics, student grade by:
by Liquitex Basics, Amsterdam, Grumbacher Academy.

  • Yellow ochre underpainting, cadmium yellow light & ultramarine blue to make greens; mars black, titanium white, cobalt blue, brunt sienna  (brown).

 Brushes & Tools:


  • #10 round


Surface or Support:  

  • Mont Marte brand.  Medium-heavy canvas sheets, cut to size; fixed to a clipboard with masking tape, so no buckling or warping.
