Massing involves combining groups of small, detailed shapes. If you look at your subject with half-closed eyes, it will obscure the details and helps get a better sense of the overall shape that makes up the subject.

 Brushes


  • #6 round,  #4 filbert, 3/4" flat brush

Surface or Support:  

  • Mont Marte brand.  Medium-heavy canvas sheets, cut to size; fixed to a clipboard with masking tape, so no buckling or warping.
