Paints: acrylics, student grade by:

by Liquitex Basics, Amsterdam, Grumbacher Academy.


  • Unbleached Titanium, Cadmium Orange, Dioxazine Purple, Alizarin Crimson, Mars Black, Titanium White.
  • Acrylic Painting Medium to make glaze.


Very interesting: mixing Cadmium Orange and Dioxazine Purple to make the chocolate icing colour.



Brushes & Tools:



  • #8 round, #4 filbert
  • plastic palette knife for mixing paint,
  • plastic ruler for paint straight edges
  • Triangle ruler for squaring
  • Materson Sta-Wet Palette  
  • Paint brush Cleaner - water tub with brush holder

Surface or Support:  


  • Mont Marte brand.  Medium-heavy canvas sheets, cut to size. No buckling or warping.
